About Rano Bofill, MD
It’s not only his medical accomplishments that distinguish the life of Rano Bofill M.D., but also his contributions to his community and the country at large. Rano has dedicated his entire life in service to others, both in his professional career caring for his patients and in his personal life and civic work. He is a profoundly compassionate physician who believes that humanitarian efforts are some of the best ways to help others.
One of the best ways to help others is by serving his country. Rano Bofill has previously served with the military of the Philippines and the United States military. He served as a Commanding Officer of a Medical Unit in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, where he was assigned to five provinces. Rano additionally served as the Officer-In-Charge of the Public Health Team of the FADD Program with the USAR. Rano’s work extended into the Filipino American Military Medical Officers Society, where he previously served as President. While his work with the military is an important part of his life, Rano is no longer active in service. He is a retired LTC with – and has an Honorable Discharge from – the USAR, and Rano is a member of the American Legion and Reserve Officers Association of America.
Rano Bofill, M.D. has a professional career in healthcare and Radiology that was born of the same compassion and desire to serve humanity for the betterment of all. He used to volunteer as “Doc for the Day” for the West Virginia State Legislation during their session and has led and volunteered in medical missions. While serving as the President of the American College of International Physicians, Rano performed a medical mission to the Dominican Republic. In addition, through his leadership in several other medical organizations, he performed in numerous medical missions throughout the Philippines.
If charity work and a distinguished medical career weren’t enough, Rano Bofill, M.D. also gave back to the world through the gift of his music. He enjoyed entertaining nursing home patients all across the nation in his spare time, and he composed theme songs for different organizations. He also used the money raised from the sale of his tapes and CDs to fund medical missions.
At the end of a long day, Rano Bofill, M.D., is thankful for God’s blessings and eternally grateful for his family: his wife and three children.
